Ten Days Safari – Northern Tanzania
Day 1 – Arrival at Kilimanjaro/ Transfer to Arusha
Pick up from Kilimanjaro Airport and transfer to Arusha (approx 1 hour) for dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 2 – Arusha NP
In the morning after breakfast, we will drive to Arusha National Park for a full day game drive and some hiking activities in the park. In the evening we will drive back to Arusha for dinner and an overnight stay at a campsite.
Day 3 – Tarangire NP
After breakfast, we will drive to Lake Manyara National Park for a game drive and have a picnic lunch en route. The park is famous for its tree climbing lions, elephants, flamingoes and giraffes. There is also an option to have a cycling tour around the park. In the evening, we will travel to Lake Eyasi for an overnight stay a lodge/campsite.
Day 4 – Tarangire NP/ Serengeti NP
After breakfast, we will have a half game drive in Tarangire NP and in the afternoon we will travel towards Serengeti NP. The stretch of road towards the park’s gates offers a fantastic opportunity to see animals in their natural habitat, often during migration including wilder beasts, zebras, impalas and lions. We will camp at Soki Campsite, along the borders of the national park.
Day 5 – Serengeti NP/ Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Today we will enjoy a full day game drive at the famous Serengeti National Park in the rolling grasslands, dotted with wildlife for as far as the eye can see from giraffes, to zebras, impalas, monkeys and hippos. We will commence our journey in the early morning where we can capture an abundance of animals at sunrise. In the evening, we will head towards Ngorongoro for dinner and an overnight stay at Simba Campsite.
Day 6 – Ngorongoro Conservation Area/ Manyara NP
In the morning, we will descend to Ngorongoro Crater, a deep, volcanic crater, the largest un flooded and unbroken caldera in the world for a half day game drive. Here we will have a good chance to see the endangered rhino as well as flocks of flamingos, herds of elephants, and Africa’s wildlife at its best, all travelling to the crater to drink from the waters. In the evening we will head towards Manyara NP for dinner and overnight stay at Sunbright Campsite.
Day 7 – Manyara NP/ Transfer to Arusha
Today we will have a half day game drive at Lake Manyara. The park is known for its vast number of flamingos as well as rift valley escarpment. In the evening we will transfer back to Arusha for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 8 – Marangu/ Transfer to Arusha
We will set off in the morning after breakfast for Marangu. We will explore the local area, visit some of the waterfalls, caves and the Marangu Gate which is the entrance of the popular Mount Kilimanjaro trekking route. In the evening we will return back to Arusha for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 9 – Lake Duluti
Just a few kilometres away from Arusha, we will travel to Lake Duluti for a hike in the forest reserves. Lake Duluti is a crater lake, sacred to the local Meru people. The forest offers a canopy amongst the shores of the lake and gives the perfect opportunity to view the forest and all its natural beauty and wildlife in and around the lake. There is also the option to canoe along the lake in traditional wooden canoes and seating areas offer beautiful views over the lake are an ideal lunch spot.
Day 10 – Departure Kilimanjaro Airport
Transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport for departure
